# Background Office Ambiance

> Add subtle office sounds to make calls sound more natural.

Background office ambiance adds a faint layer of office sounds to your AI calls. The contact hears keyboard typing, distant conversation, and ambient noise. This makes the call environment feel more human and less like an automated system.

## Turn ambiance on or off

Background office ambiance is **on by default** for new campaigns. In the campaign Options step, toggle **Background Sound** off if you would rather have a clean line. There is nothing to configure beyond the toggle. hyzl mixes the ambient layer in at a fixed level, designed to be subliminal rather than noticeable.

## When to use it

Ambiance is most effective when:

* Your target audience is accustomed to speaking with business professionals in office settings
* You want to reduce the "robotic" perception of AI calling
* Your voice selection is realistic and conversational

It is less useful for campaigns targeting consumers at home or in informal settings. Office sounds may seem out of place there.
