# Understand recovery commission

> See how proven lift turns net-collected recovery into the commission amount.

The default hyzl recovery commission is 20% of proven net-caused revenue. Your Analytics card shows the rate assigned to your account.

hyzl does not charge commission on every observed recovery.

## Follow the calculation

The commission card moves through four amounts:

1. **Gross recovered revenue** is the observed recovery amount.
2. **Net-collected revenue** removes refunds, disputes, and other qualifying reversals.
3. **Net-caused revenue** applies the proven continuous lift factor.
4. **Commission** applies your account rate to net-caused revenue.

The card separates recovery with a tracked code from recovery without one where provider data supports that distinction.

## Understand the evidence gate

The causal step depends on [continuous lift](/docs/revenue-recovery/analytics/lift-tests):

* **Not measured yet** produces no current net-caused commission.
* **Early signal** remains directional and produces no current net-caused commission.
* **Proven** supplies the causal factor used in the calculation.

This gate prevents organic returns from becoming commission merely because they happened after outreach.

## Review adjustments

Recent recovered payments can remain subject to a reversal hold while refunds or disputes settle. The Analytics card explains the current net-collected amount and any pending commission state.

A previously invoiced ledger amount can remain visible even when the newest lift recomputation is not proven. The card distinguishes recorded billing history from the current estimate.

<Note>
Twenty percent is the default rate. An account-specific rate can differ, so
use the rate shown in your Analytics commission card.
